I grew up on the border between Woodside, Sunnyside and Long Island City. I lived in the Celtics on 43rd street and 48th avenue. I went to Long Island City High School and Queens College (graduated in 1972). I have been living and working in Ormond Beach, FL since about 1982. I still have very fond memories of the "old neighborhood." I remember building snow forts in the winter and going to the park on 43rd street in the summer. I remember the stores, all of which are probably gone by now. I remember the pizza places where you bought by the slice and the Bliss and Sunnyside movie theaters where you could go on Saturdays and watch a double and sometimes triple feature. I remember visiting my old neighborhood about 20 years ago and felt that "everything had gotten smaller." I still remember and when I do, it makes me feel good.
